I have a friendly but efficient manner and have developed solid working relationships in all of the staff teams in which I have been placed.

I believe that my knowledge of restaurant operations and hospitality expertise make me a highly suitable candidate for the role.

I have had several similar jobs serving customers in different types of restaurant.

My work has been mainly fast paced and demanding and I provide excellent service to my customers at all times.

Your resume and cover letter should go hand in hand, and the cover letter serves as a tool for explaining why you are transitioning professions.

Example: As you will see in my resume, I spent several years in the food service industry as a professional waiter. If you are transitioning from a job in food service to a different field, you may be wondering how to incorporate that job experience into your resume.Being a waiter or waitress is an occupation that requires multiple skill sets and customer service abilities.I recognize the necessity of detail-oriented scheduling, vendor negotiations, food safety issues and creating a unique and pleasurable dining experience for patrons.Being a waiter or waitress is often a high-pressure job that requires tact, patience and solid people skills. This gave me a practical way to pursue my education in graphic arts and design with a flexible schedule.Additionally, I found working in this capacity allowed me to hone my interpersonal skills and polish my approach to customer service.Food servers should be pleasant, cordial, and welcoming to each guest who visits the restaurant. Some of the main goals of a server should be to ensure complete customer satisfaction so that these guests will want to come back, thus increasing rates of retention for the restaurant.Restaurant servers, also called waiters or waitresses, are crucial team members in the restaurant and food service industry.Their duties include greeting customers, assisting with seating requests and arrangements as needed, taking orders, carrying trays of food and drinks to tables, accommodating requests for dietary restrictions by acting as a liaison between customers and kitchen staff, and cleaning up after guests leave.
